Role Model for U.S. Manufacturing

A role model within manufacturing is a company that is looked up to by other companies as an example to be emulated. Being a role model is a status that must be earned and is not a title granted unless it is warranted. At Boston Centerless, our Core Purpose is To be a role model for U.S. manufacturing.” Becoming a role model takes purposeful and intentional planning and action, and that is exactly what our team has implemented to achieve our goal. We call it the “BC Way.” The BC Way is our company culture and it transcends our products, services, and team members – and is the conduit through which we are a role model.

BC’s 6 Core Principles that Guide Our Operations

For 65+ years, through hard work and dedication to our customers, we’ve earned our reputation in the industry for offering unparalleled quality and service when it comes to precision ground bar and grinding services. With years of consistent performance, Boston Centerless is recognized for superior quality, exceptional customer service and response along with best in class delivery of high precision materials. At Boston Centerless, we have 6 core principles that guide our operations and the following explains how these principles enable our company to be a role model for U.S. manufacturing.

  • Secret Service: our team strives to meet our customers’ expectations with every interaction so that doing business with us is easy and trouble free: our goal is to provide a level of service that is second to none. At Boston Centerless, we are always looking for opportunities to improve our customer service and the range of services we offer in order to raise customer satisfaction and be a role model within manufacturing. For example, this year we expanded our in-house material validation and testing services to offer additional capabilities to our customers.

  • Significance: our team endeavors to establish a significant market presence within precision grinding so other companies within U.S. manufacturing will notice what we do – and how well we do it. In order to be a role model, we must be worthy of other companies’ attention and differentiate ourselves from the competition so others want to emulate us.

  • Growth: at Boston Centerless, we offer a broad range of precision grinding and value-added services so we are well positioned to provide support as our customers’ grow and expand over time. We value growth internally as well so we expanded our facilities to better serve our customers. In 2022, we opened a second manufacturing plant located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The facility increases manufacturing and distribution capacity substantially with over 16,000 additional square feet and state-of-the-art equipment.

  • Opportunity: at Boston Centerless, we are committed to developing our personnel professionally as well as personally by offering a range of opportunities. We understand that centerless grinding is a unique skill that takes time to develop so we invest in rigorous training to minimize the learning curve for our team. We have created innovative, specialized training to ensure our personnel receive high quality and tailored content to meet their needs and allow them to contribute across a variety of operations.

  • Pride: We understand that a continuous improvement culture must be embedded in every level of our business so we empower all of our personnel. Boston Centerless is a team where all members give 100% effort and strive for excellence. We believe in proper recognition; for example; we have a Golden Bar program that enables employees to recognize other employees that go “above and beyond.”

  • Community: Boston Centerless is an active member in the communities in which we operate. We prioritize participation in local programs and have worked within our community on a variety of initiatives. Sponsorship of a local robotics league, partnerships with local trade schools for hiring purposes, and offering engineering and trade school internships are just a few examples of how Boston Centerless engages with our community.
