Experience MFG Day at Boston Centerless

In 2011, MFG Day (Manufacturing Day) was born from an initiative between The Manufacturing Institute and The Fabricators & Manufacturers Association as a founding partner. By 2016, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), an organization with membership in excess of 14,000 manufacturers, began leading the MFG Day initiative.

Today, thousands of manufacturers and educational facilities open their doors to welcome students, parents, teachers, and community leaders, across North America. This effort is to demonstrate that manufacturing has evolved into a viable career option offering cutting edge technology and well-paying jobs. The equipment is highly sophisticated and often requires highly skilled operators. In addition to the production floor worker, there are a variety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) careers that offer a bright future. MFG is on October 7th, 2022, with events continuing throughout the month.

Manufacturing is a critical component of our economy and most of the innovation in technology and products happens on the factory floor. There has been an onshoring of production of critical components bringing a large volume of business back to the United States, especially in the aftermath of the pandemic.

Over the next ten years, manufacturers hope to fill 4 million high-skill, high-tech, and high-paying positions. MFG day educates the next generation on how they can thrive in a wide range of sectors and allows them to discover the many opportunities that exist in the manufacturing industry.

Boston Centerless is opening its doors to the public on MFG Day to showcase our operations to the public. Our employees at Boston Centerless work on state-of-the-art equipment, and the products we create go into some of the most advanced machines and products including medical implants, automobiles, aerospace, and spacecraft. You can see this in action through a factory tour at our corporate facility in Woburn, Massachusetts:
